Announcing AUDITIONS Thursday, October 13th and Friday, October 14th, 2016 beginning immediately after school each day.  Audition slots are 10 minutes in length in room 304 and require singing alone for a small panel as well as dancing in groups of 10 for our choreographer.  Students will sing first and then will await a full group of 10 for their dance audition in the cafeteria, which requires learning a short dance combination.  All roles must sing and dance.  Students will be able to sign-up for a time slot with first and last name and grade at our general information meeting on Tuesday, September 20th, 2016 or any time thereafter outside Mrs. Stagnitta's Room 304.  Should a student change his/her mind, should please go to the list outside 304 and scratch off his/her name.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your audition time.
Elementary aged students in our feeder schools in grades 4-6 will also have an opportunity to audition for small chorus roles on the Friday after school.  Information regarding this will be sent out via your school shortly.  Note that not all students will be able to be cast, so children should be prepared to face the possibility of not making this year's show.

Parents should be aware that the school musical is a large commitment.  Choreography will run Monday's and Friday's  until 5:30pm in the cafeteria beginning the last week of November until Christmas break and then commencing again in January.
Choral rehearsals will be required a minimum of 1-2 lunch hours a week beginning in November with soloists and lead roles in room 302.  And blocking rehearsals are added on top of this in the drama room in January on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays until approximately 5:30 pm.
Our show will run the first week of May, and all committed students are required to be completely available 2 weeks prior to the show, exempting involved grade twelve students during their retreat.
Students will also be required to pay a show fee, similar to that of a team fee this year, with information sheets going home prior to auditions.
We ask students and families to carefully look at the entire rehearsal schedule and all contract and show information prior to joining our cast/crew.  Students with possible conflicting schedules should determine their activity priorities prior to auditions as rehearsals will likely conflict with other extracurricular activities, causing difficulties for both the team and the show.

A call for technical crew and back stage running crew will be in late fall/the new year. Please listen to announcements for future information.

Students are recommended to read the entire script and be familiar with the show prior to auditions.  Copies will be made available in the school library for 48 hour loan.  Audition music will be made available at the library for 24 hour loan and should be practiced prior to the audition time.  We recommend that the student scan/photograph the selection labeled for his/her desired character prior to returning the material to the library.  All those auditioning as possible chorus members will be singing a piece from Be Our Guest.  Please return all library copies promptly and in the same condition in which they were borrowed.
Thank you!  We look forward to having your children "be our guest" at our auditions and joining our STA DRAMA family.  Should you have any questions, please contact Mrs. McAllister at mcallister@aquinas.org.
God bless and break a leg!
