STA Regional Education Committee (REC)
St. Thomas Aquinas (STA) is a member of the Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA). The role of the Regional Education Committee (REC) at is to implement the policies and decisions of the CISVA Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
- Develop local policies in collaboration with the principal and pastor. Local policies must not supersede provincial or federal legislation or CISVA policy.
- Participate in long-term planning, including financial and strategic, in consultation with the school pastor, principal and parents.
- Ensure the safe and orderly operation of the school in the following areas: collection of fees, payment of operating expenses, facilities, maintenance, fund raising, parent participation, etc.
- Assume other duties as assigned to the REC from time to time by CISVA.
