Modern Languages

Overview

Students at St. Thomas Aquinas have the option to pursue either French or Spanish.

Those entering in grade 8 must complete up to and including French 10. Spanish is offered in Grades 11 and 12.

The Language Department strives to help students authentically communicate by acquiring socio-cultural knowledge and developing reading, writing and oral communication skills.

Course Offerings

  • French 8-12
  • Introductory Spanish 11 and Spanish 11

In order to fulfill the university requirements for a grade 11 language credit,  both Introductory Spanish and Spanish 11 must be successfully completed

Field Trips

Optional field trips to locations around the world such as France, Monaco, and Switzerland are offered to students in grades 11 and 12, every other year.
