International Students

We thank international applicants for their interest in St. Thomas Aquinas. Please review the requirements and the application process carefully.

Admissions to STA for students from China and Korea are managed by an authorized agent. Please contact the respective agent for information about fees as well as assistance with application.

Admissions Requirements:

  1. The student must have attained a level of spoken and written English that will enable them to study the secondary school curriculum. STA does not offer English as a Second Language courses. Students may be required to attend English as a Second Language course after school hours.
  2. The applicant should be at least 16 years of age.
  3. The applicant should be living with their parent/guardian who will be part of the application process.
  4. Students must submit a transcript of their most recent marks. (English translation may be requested).
  5. STA does not offer boarding or dormitory facilities and the student’s family must be prepared to arrange their own homestay placements. We strongly recommend that the student stays with an English-speaking family.
  6. Standards regarding absenteeism and participation in extra-curricular activities must be agreed to at the time of application. Chronic tardiness and absenteeism will be dealt with very seriously and could result in students losing the Student Visa status in Canada.

Applying for Admissions to St. Thomas Aquinas High School

Step 1:

Complete the attached Application Form. Please note: Submitting this form does not mean an immediate acceptance to STA.

Step 2:

Attach the student’s most recent transcript of marks (in English). Students residing in Canada must submit a copy of their Student Visa and a copy of their parent/guardian’s Canadian citizenship or Landed Immigrant document.

Step 3:

The applicant and parent/guardian book an appointment to meet with the principal. This interview takes place via Zoom or Google video.

Step 4:

If accepted the total International Students Fees are due in advance. Upon receipt of full payment, a Letter of Acceptance will be issued. Note – The International Student fees are not refundable after the student has started at STA. The school uniform items are not included in the fee.

Step 5:

Students outside Canada should apply for a Student Visa once they receive the Letter of Acceptance at their nearest Canadian Immigration office. This process can take approximately 6-8 weeks. Parent/guardian should make residence arrangements for the student with a homestay or host family.
